Lovers of the outdoors are spoilt for choice in Crete. Its stunning scenery isn’t simply limited to sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Hikers have a plethora of trails to select from, including magical gorge walks, canyons, coves and valleys.
In fact, just over an hour south of Chania is the longest gorge in Europe – Samaria Gorge. A breathtaking trek takes in abandoned villages, churches and forests.
