Rail & fly

If you’re flying with Etihad Airways to or from Frankfurt or Munich, book an onward or return connection by train to or from any station on the Deutsche Bahn rail network throughout Germany.

1. Book your flight online, choose the city you’d like to fly from and select ‘Rail n Fly’ as the destination.
2. If you're departing from Germany, select Rail n Fly as the point of departure and choose your destination.
3. The train times you see are subject to change, but you can find the confirmed timetable at bahn.de.
4. When you’ve booked, we’ll send you an email with your booking reference numbers – you’ll receive a separate reference number for each guest and leg of your journey. This is not your ticket.
5. Visit rail-checkin.com to view and print your Rail & Fly tickets or print them up to 72 hours in advance at a Deutsche Bahn station.
6. When you arrive at the airport, collect your bags before you make your way to the train station.
7. Present your train ticket and flight schedule when you arrive at the train station.
8. Sit back and travel by train to any destination on the Deutsche Bahn rail network.

Depending on the leg of your journey, your train tickets are valid one day before departure, the day of departure, the day of arrival and one day after arrival only.

If you’re flying with Etihad Airways to or from Paris, book an onward or return connection by train on the Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV) rail network throughout France and Brussels, Belgium.

If you’re flying with Etihad Airways to or from Fiumicino Airport in Rome, book an onward or return connection by train on the Trenitalia rail network.

1. When you book your flight, select your chosen railway station as your final destination.
2. When you’ve booked, we’ll send you an email with your booking reference numbers – you’ll receive a separate reference number for each guest and part of your journey. This is not your ticket.
3. Download or print your train tickets by checking-in at check-in.accesrail.com 72 hours before the departure time shown. After you check-in, your ticket will be valid 24 hours from the departure time shown.
4. When travelling from the airport, follow the signs to the Leonardo Express Airport Train. At the station, visit the ticketing office to have your train ticket printed then use the barcode on your ticket to access the platform.
5. When travelling to the airport, take the train to Fiumicino Airport and follow signs to the Leonardo Express Airport Train.
6. The train departs every 15 minutes and takes 32 minutes to reach Rome Termini Station.
7. Use the barcode on your Leonardo Express ticket to access the platform at Fiumicino Airport.

Ticketing terms and conditions

• When you buy a ticket for an Etihad flight, you can also get a ticket for a train ride on the same ticket.
• Please contact the booking office for any cancellation or refund requests.
• Etihad’s standard ticketing policy applies for rebooking and cancelling your ticket according to the booking class fare rules.
• The train ticket is valid on the booked Trenitalia train (as shown on the Etihad booking).
• In case the Trenitalia train is delayed, which causes a missed connection to the outbound flight from Fiumicino Airport in Rome, please reach out to Etihad to rebook the next available flight.
• If your Etihad flight to Fiumicino Airport in Rome is delayed and you miss your train, we'll put you on the next available one.
• Trenitalia will honour Etihad’ baggage allowance on its trains.

If you’re flying with Etihad Airways to or from London or Manchester, book an onward or return connection by train or coach on the Great Western Rail, Heathrow Express, LNER, TransPennine or National Express network throughout the UK.

Ticketing terms and conditions

• When you buy a ticket for an Etihad flight, you can also get a ticket for a train ride on the same ticket.
  
• Please contact the booking office for any cancellation or refund requests.
• Etihad’s standard ticketing policy applies for rebooking and cancelling your ticket according to the booking class fare rules.
• The ticket is valid for travel between the points specified on the ticket (as shown on the Etihad booking).
• In case a train or bus is delayed, which causes a missed connection to the outbound flight in London or Manchester, please reach out to Etihad to rebook the next available flight.
• If your Etihad flight to London Heathrow or Manchester Airport is delayed and you miss your train or bus, we'll put you on the next available one.
• Etihad’s baggage allowance will be applied for travel.
