We've simplified the way you retain your Tier or progress to a higher Tier by removing Tier Segments. Your eligible Tier Segments will be converted to Tier Miles to help you unlock more benefits sooner.
You have a whole year to enjoy your Tier benefits. If you don't earn enough Tier Miles to maintain your Tier Status in that time, your benefits will expire at the end of the 12 months.
Exclusively available for Etihad Guest members from today. Redeem your Etihad Guest Miles to upgrade into The Residence, when flying between Abu Dhabi and London or New York.
As a Bronze, Silver or Gold member, we'll let you know if your miles are ever due to expire. To avoid losing your miles, you can extend their validity by 18 months by flying with Etihad Airways or any of our airline partners.

We’re also introducing a new change and cancellation policy. We understand plans can change. If you need to cancel a GuestSeat reservation, the earlier you let us know, the more we can refund you.
Tier Miles and Etihad Guest Miles will be awarded at the same rate based on zone, taking into account the selected fare brand, the destination and the class of travel. Therefore, the higher fare brand you book, the more you'll earn.
We’re delighted to introduce Diamond Tier, recognizing our top flyers with experiences that truly go beyond. To reach this top tier, you will need to be a Platinum member and spend USD 150,000 over a rolling 12 month period on flights with Etihad Airways.
1) What are Custom Benefits?
Silver Tier members and above will receive Custom Benefits on top of your Core Benefits. When your Tier Status begins, you’ll receive an email reminding you to select your Custom Benefits. You will then have 30 days to choose your favourite benefits. If you don't select your Custom Benefits within this timeframe, you will automatically receive default Custom Benefits. Make sure you choose your Custom Benefits before you travel, as they may not be available if you don’t. The number of Custom Benefits you can select depends on your tier.
2) How can I choose and view my benefits?
Log in to the profile section of your Etihad Guest account on the website or Etihad Airways App to choose and view your custom benefits. To use the benefits with pre-defined quantities, add your flight booking details to the benefit.
3) How many times can I use my custom benefits?
Etihad Guest members can enjoy their benefits an unlimited number of times unless the benefit has a pre-defined quantity of vouchers.

You can check all your available benefits by logging into your account or view all the benefits for every tier, here.
5) Can I change my benefits once selected?
No, your choices cannot be changed once you select your Custom or Beyond Benefits. You can enjoy them for 12 months till the end of your tier expiry.
6) How long do I have to choose my Custom Benefits?
Once your tier starts, you have 30 days to choose your favourite Custom Benefits. If you don't select your Custom Benefits within this timeframe, you will automatically receive default Custom Benefits.
1) What are Beyond Benefits?
Gold Platinum and Tier members can unlock extra rewards called Beyond Benefits. These benefits are in addition to their Core and Custom Benefits. When Gold members earn 75,000 Tier Miles, they’ll get an email notification to choose two Beyond Benefits. Platinum and Diamond members will get an email notification to choose two Beyond Benefits when they earn 175,000 Tier Miles. You have until the end of your tier expiry to choose and enjoy your Beyond Benefits.
1) What changes have been made to how many Tier Miles and Etihad Guest Miles I’ll earn when I fly?
When you fly with Etihad, you’ll earn the same amount of Tier Miles and Etihad Guest Miles, based on your destination, fare type, and cabin. You can learn more about how many miles you’ll earn for specific flights, here.
2) Are there any changes to the validity of my Etihad Guest Miles?
Etihad Guest Miles will continue to remain valid for a period of 18 months. Your Etihad Guest Miles balance will continue to be extended when you fly with us or any of our partner airlines.
The Etihad Guest Miles of Platinum and Diamond members won’t expire as long as the Platinum or Diamond Tier Status is maintained.
3) What impact do these changes have on the expiration of current Etihad Guest Miles balances?
To extend the validity of your Etihad Guest Miles for another 18 months, you will need to fly at least once.

The number of Tier Miles you need to maintain your Tier or reach the next one will stay the same, however you will need:
2) What are the Tier Miles from flying?
You will need to earn some of your Tier Miles by flying with Etihad Airways or our partner airlines. You can also earn Tier Miles from other non-airline partner activities such as credit cards spends, retail spends or Miles on the Go.
3) How are Tier Miles from flying calculated?
Tier Miles you earn from flying with Etihad and our airline partners is based on your destination, fare type, and cabin class.
4) Why have Tier Segments been removed?
In order to simply for the programme, we’ve removed Tier Segments and kept only Tier Miles as a way of progressing through our tiers.
5) Will I continue to earn Tier Segments when I fly with partner airlines?
No, we’ve completely removed Tier Segments. We converted all our member's previous Tier Segments into Tier Miles, making it straightforward to see how many Tier Miles you need to maintain your current tier or move up to higher tiers.
6) How have my Tier Segments been converted to Tier Miles?
For every eligible Tier Segment you earned in Economy class, we credited your account with 500 Tier Miles per segment. For eligible Tier Segments earned from Business class flights, we credited your account with 1,000 Tier Miles per segment.
Eligibility of the conversion of Tier segments is based on your Tier segment performance compared to your Tier Miles performance towards retaining your tier.
Example:
Fatima: Earned 7 Tier Segments and 5,000 Tier Miles towards retaining her Silver Tier. She will be eligible for Tier Segment conversion as the Tier Segments performance is great than her Tier Miles performance.
Ahmed: Earned 2 Tier Segments and 5,000 Tier Miles towards retaining his Silver Tier. He will not be eligible for Tier Segment conversion as the Tier Segments performance is lower than his Tier Miles performance.
1) How long will my tier be valid for?
You can enjoy all Tier benefits for 12 months. You can see the expiry date of your Tier in your account summary.
2) Will my tier validity change when Etihad Guest is relaunched in June 2024?
No, the change does not impact your tier validity. Your tier will still be valid for 12 months from it’s renewal date. Your tier will expire at the end of your tier validity date.
3) What happens if I renewed/upgraded my tier before the change?
If you have reached the requirement to renew or upgrade your tier, you will retain your tier or be upgraded and will be able to enjoy your benefits for another 12 months until your new tier validity date.
4) Can I pay to extend my tier?
If you are an Etihad Guest Visa card holder with Silver or Gold Tier Status, you can use your Etihad Guest Miles to extend your Tier Status for another year.
5) How long will my tier and my vouchers be valid for?
Your tier and your vouchers are valid till the end of your tier validity.
6) If my tier changes, what happens to my vouchers?
If you tier changes, you will lose access to your vouchers. They will no longer be valid.
7) What happens when there is a flight disruption, and I can’t make the most of a voucher that I used?
We’ll refund your voucher so that you can enjoy it on another occasion.

2) I’d like to cancel my GuestSeat booking, am I entitled to a refund?
Our new GuestSeat cancellation policy applies to bookings made after 21 February 2024. Reservations made before this time will follow the cancellation policy in place at the time of booking.
3) What changes have been made to the GuestSeat refund and cancellation policy?
You’re eligible for a refund up to 24 hours before your flight departure date. The following charges apply:
If you do not turn up for your flight without letting us know, you will not be entitled to a refund.
1) How do I qualify for Diamond Tier?
To reach the Diamond Tier, you'll need to be a Platinum member and spend USD 150,000 (excluding TAX and ancillaries) on flights with Etihad Airways over a rolling 12-month period.

Diamond Tier members can enjoy a wide range of valuable benefits, curated bespoke for you.
3) Does Diamond Tier impact the benefits of my Platinum Tier?
No, Platinum Tier members can still look forward to the exciting benefits and rewards.
1) What happens if I am flying after 27 June?
If you are travelling after 27 June, members must make sure to include their Etihad Guest membership number to their booking, In addition, to enjoy their benefits, the member must choose their custom benefit before reaching the airport. While travelling, please keep your Etihad Guest App with you so you can view your chosen benefits.
2) What happens if I do not pick my benefits before I travel?
Make sure you pick your Custom Benefits before you travel. If you don’t select your Custom Benefits before you travel, the benefits may not be available.
3) How will I know if my chosen benefits have been added to my booking?
If your Etihad Guest number has been added to your booking, your selected benefits will be automatically added to your booking. To enjoy the benefits with pre-defined quantities, please log in to your Etihad Guest account and choose the flight you would like to avail the benefit.
