Chicago is hottest in July, averaging around 24°C, and boasts pleasant temperatures from May to September. This is when a lot of the annual festivals take place, from Lollapalooza, a musical extravaganza, to food festivals celebrating hot dogs or ribs.

Things to know before you fly to Chicago

O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is 18 miles northwest of the city centre. The Blue Line ‘L’ train will take you from the airport to downtown in about 45 minutes. Buses run early in the morning to late at night, multiple times an hour. Or pre-book an airport transfer with Etihad – direct from the airport to your hotel lobby.
