Where should I fly to in the UAE?
Abu Dhabi (AUH) is perfectly placed as a starting point for your UAE adventure. The airport is only a 25-minute drive from downtown Abu Dhabi and just 15 minutes from Yas Island. Travelling to other emirates is relatively straightforward – it’s around a 90-minute drive from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.
What is the local cuisine in the UAE?
Emirati cuisine is delicious and undoubtedly more-ish. Try shawarma, sliced meat served in a flatbread with salad and tons of sauce – usually made with garlic and yoghurt. For vegetarians, try falafel in a flatbread instead.
For something sweet, try luqaimat – sweet dumplings covered in date syrup. These bite-sized treats pair brilliantly with a cup of Arabian coffee.
How many days do you need to visit the UAE?
Most visitors looking to visit more than one region in the United Arab Emirates take between a week and 10 days to explore all the country has to offer. If Abu Dhabi is your destination, five days to a week will give you time to really get to know the city.
