Amsterdam is warmest in July and August and its famous tulips bloom in spring. If you visit between October and March you’ll find that the climate is cooler.
Rainfall is not often heavy but is relatively consistent throughout the year, including the summer period, so it’s a good idea to pack a light rainproof jacket or umbrella for sightseeing.

Things to know before you fly to Amsterdam
Transfers from the airport
Amsterdam International Airport Schiphol (AMS) is less than 10 miles from the city centre. Pre-book your transfer with Etihad and your driver will be waiting to whisk you to your next destination once you land.
Alternatively, the NS Sprinter train will take you to Amsterdam’s central station in less than 20 minutes. Buses operate for most of the day and run regularly.
Public Holidays
Amsterdam’s public holidays include New Year’s Day, Easter Monday and King’s Day (April 27th) – while Liberation Day is celebrated on May 5th.
During these occasions, businesses may be closed and there may be celebrations or festivals locally.
Getting around
