What’s nearby

There are still a wide range of attractions within a relatively short distance of Telal Resort. Al Ain Oasis can be reached in less than an hour and is a fascinating site to visit. It explains how the region’s inhabitants began taming the desert some 4,000 years ago.

Not only can you learn about the agricultural complexities of the region at the educational Eco-Centre but you can also explore the beauty of the shaded pathways that wind through some 147,000 date palms. Look out for mango, date, banana and fig plants and trees as you explore the site.

Al Jahili Fort is also worth visiting if you are interested in finding out more about the rich history of the region. One of the oldest buildings in the UAE, it was constructed in 1891 to defend the city and its precious palm groves. Now visitors can explore the beautiful landscaped gardens and learn about the fort’s past.
