Abu Dhabi: Where adventure meets culture
Forget what you think you know about the capital of the UAE
You'll have gorgeous sunshine and warm temperatures all year-round in Abu Dhabi. The hottest months run from May to October, when the cool air conditioning of indoor attractions entice you inside.
In the cooler months at the start and end of the year (November through to March), you can make the most of exploring outdoors. Lounge on the beaches, swim in the Gulf and watch the sunset over the city.
If you need some help deciding where to stay, The Corniche is always high on our list, especially for families. A hive of activity both day and night, The Corniche is a picturesque promenade that stretches 8km along the Arabian coast. Here you’ll find idyllic beaches, cool water-front bars, restaurants and shops, as well as a cycle track and children’s play areas. A lot of major tourist attractions are located close to The Corniche too, like Qasr Al Watan, The Founder’s Memorial, and the Heritage Village.
Yas Island – the entertainment capital of Abu Dhabi – and Saadiyat Island – a strong rival to the Maldives – are both also great places to stay.
If you’re eligible for a visa on arrival, or you’re a GCC citizen, you do not need to apply for a visa before you travel to the UAE. If you’re not eligible for a visa on arrival, you will be required to apply for a visa. This also applies if you’re transiting through Abu Dhabi and plan to leave the airport.
