As part of our Year of Zayed campaign, we donated humanitarian supplies to help over 2,450 Syrian refugee children at three refugee camps across Greece. Raised through fundraisers and volunteer events in Abu Dhabi, the donations were flown to Greece on a specially branded Year of Zayed Etihad Cargo Boeing 777 through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

Etihad Airways is committed to giving back to the communities it serves, with various projects aimed at promoting education, skills development and women empowerment in underprivileged areas. With over 24,000 children benefitting from these initiatives, we’re proud to continue making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
As part of the Bridge of Hope campaign, members of our CSR team travelled to Zanzibar to mark International Literacy Day. Our volunteers helped open a library that will benefit up to 500 children, as well as gifted Etihad business class blankets, toys, non-perishable food, books and stationery.
In response to the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria in 2023, Etihad Airways sprang into action to help those in need. Employees donated over AED 122,000 and volunteered to sort and pack 20,000 donations, while our Etihad Guest Miles donation programme encouraged guests and employees to donate miles as part of our ongoing relief efforts.
We had a tremendous response to our call for volunteers - over 3,000 employees expressed their interest in helping with COVID-19 response efforts. We delivered 1,000 meals daily to Humanitarian City, donated 6,400 blankets and provided essential supplies to hospitals. Donated Etihad Guest Miles were also used to provide ventilators, masks, gloves and soap to refugees worldwide with UNHCR and Emirates Red Crescent.
We organised aid to support residents injured or displaced from their homes in Beirut and gathered donations, including medical equipment, clothes, amenity bags, masks, shoes and blankets. Additionally, Etihad and the Emirates Red Crescent supplied tents to provide shelter for those who had lost their homes and five medical tents to act as an on-field clinic for anyone requiring emergency medical assistance.
We launched a mission of humanitarian assistance in support of Rohingya refugee families. The campaign included distributing garments, dry food packages and blankets to more than 3,000 Rohingya families in Bahukhali Bazar in Bangladesh.
Etihad and the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination successfully completed the Greenhouse Project, a three-year community engagement initiative in Al Ain for People of Determination. We funded the construction of greenhouse facilities for people of decide to grow, package and sell vegetables to provide them with a regular income for the future.
Etihad partnered with the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination to establish a chocolate factory for People of Determination. Women from ZHO were trained by Etihad’s professional chefs from Etihad Catering to operate the factory and hand-make chocolate. We also helped establish the facility by providing the machinery and funding the ingredients for the first year of chocolate production in addition to promoting the chocolate created by the women.
