In Azerbaijan, summers are quite hot, and winters very cold. As such, the mildest time to visit is the spring into early summer, from April to June, or in autumn, from September to October.
In July and August, temperatures sit at an average of 27°C or above. January and February are the coldest, at around 5°C or lower.

Traditional Azerbaijan is wonderfully preserved throughout the country, but even more so in Baku’s ancient Old City – with examples dating back as far as the 7th century.

If you’re visiting Gabala, then take a trip to the Yeddi Gozel Waterfall to admire the tranquil surroundings. Of course, you can’t travel to Azerbaijan without experiencing incredible mud volcanoes in action – the country boasts the most in the entire world.

Local currency
The currency in Azerbaijan is the Azerbaijan manat (AZN), with no other currencies accepted. You can sometimes use major credit cards, but it’s predominantly a cash-based economy.
Language
The official language spoken in Azerbaijan is Azerbaijani, or Azeri, which is a Turkic language. You’ll still get by speaking English in most places though, especially at major hotels.

The plug sockets in Azerbaijan are types C and F. Standard Euro adaptors with two rounded pins will work here.
