Things to know before you fly to Beijing
Transfers from the airport
Arrange an airport transfer online with Etihad and your driver will be waiting for you when you land at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK).
Alternatively, take the Airport Express Line which has regular trains running into the city with a journey time of around 20 minutes.
Language
Beijing residents speak a local version of Mandarin inspired by the city’s long cultural heritage, although many Chinese dialects are spoken in the city, including Cantonese.
Getting around
One of the best ways to travel around the city is by using the Beijing subway system, which is reliable and easy to navigate.
Walking is a fantastic way to experience the city if you’re centrally located. Alternatively, cycling is a quick way to travel short distances.
Local cuisine
