It’s typically warm and dry in Pakistan from March to May – often reaching well over 30°C in high summer – while the rainy season starts in June and can run until early September.
The weather does vary across the country, however, with cooler temperatures found in the mountainous areas to the north.

Found in central Islamabad, Rawal Lake is an artificial reservoir built to provide the city with water. Head to Lake View Park to experience the best of the lake – which is a recreational hub in the city.

Explore Lahore Fort
Magnificent Lahore Fort is a citadel in Lahore, one of Pakistan’s liveliest cities. Covering a large area of the northern part of Lahore, this UNESCO World Heritage Site contains a number of different buildings, many with contrasting architectural styles, telling the story of the fort’s past.
Don’t miss the Sheesh Mahal, known as the ‘Palace of Mirrors’, a unique building in the fort which is decorated with reflective tiles that cause a beautiful mirror effect.

Public holidays
The people of Pakistan love to celebrate and there are a number of national holidays through the year, including the festivals of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Pakistan Day is held on 23 March each year.
Local currency
The official currency in Pakistan is the Pakistani Rupee (PKR). The country is a largely cash-based society, although some outlets will take payments via major credit cards.
Cultural considerations
Pakistan is a Muslim country and there are many beautiful mosques to see across the country. If you visit a religious site, dress modestly, covering your shoulders and legs. Women may be asked to cover their heads as well.
