Australia is a vast country so temperatures vary region by region and seasons are typically the opposite to those in the northern hemisphere.

When it’s cold in Melbourne, Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef are enjoying tropical weather.

If you’re seeking beach weather, then book your flight to Sydney for the summer (December to February) with average highs of 26°C.

The figures shown are for Sydney. If flying elsewhere into Australia, check the local weather before you fly.
