Experience the quieter side of the capital with a visit to Ko Kret, a manmade island on the northern outskirts of Bangkok.

Known for its pottery, the handmade terracotta pots produced here are sold across Bangkok.

It’s a foodie island too. Try the kanom krok – coconut pancakes – and the island’s signature dish of tort man nor galah. These are deep-fried patties filled with herbs and mushrooms and served with a sweet and sour sauce.

The journey from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to central Bangkok takes around 30 minutes by car. Pre-book an airport transfer with Etihad and a driver will be waiting for you in arrivals when you land.
