Getting around
Barcelona city centre isn’t too big and, with wide pedestrian boulevards, it’s easy to get around on foot. For attractions that are further afield you can make use of the metro system or ride on the fantastic Hop-On Hop-Off bus.
Local currency
Barcelona, like the rest of Spain, uses the euro (EUR) as its currency. There are ATMs across the city, while most shops, restaurants and hotels accept major credit cards.
Airport transfers
Pre-book a transfer with Etihad before you fly to Barcelona and a car will be waiting for you when you land. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or use one of the regular bus services which takes around 40 minutes to reach the heart of the city. The metro also connects the airport to the city centre.
Where to stay in Barcelona
If you want to be in the heart of the action, we recommend staying around Las Ramblas, Plaça de Catalunya or the Gothic Quarter, close to the city’s main attractions. If you’re on a budget, opt for somewhere a little further from the centre, but close to a metro station – the Eixample area has many hotels.
